Here are just a few comments from participants in our Leadership Conferences of the recent past. By going into this conference it opened my eyes to new
political issues, and made me realize that I too, can make a difference by
speaking up. The open debates and making amendments were my favorite. I loved
hearing everyone's opinions on the issues and working together. I remember the feeling of gaining more of an inside
perspective and understanding of the ideals upon which this country was founded
as well as a greater insight on the role democracy has played in the shaping of
our nation. I remember really enjoying meeting different people from various
places across the nation and I found it neat to see their viewpoints or how
their school or lifestyles differed from my own. I remember how great the staff was, and even more so
how great and friendly all the kids were to each other. As a chaperone, I was most impressed with the
tremendous variety of activities that not only taught but kept the youth
interested all at the same time! The best part of the conference for me was listening to
Dan speak. It was just unbelievably awesome to just be in the audience and hear
the words he was speaking. I just remember that it really impacted me at the
time and that's one of the things I remember the most. He's a really awesome
speaker. My expectations were met, in fact they were surpassed.
I was very impressed with all the weekend had to offer and I'm encouraging
students here to apply next year!! Freedoms Foundation has convinced me that
as an American Citizen I have a voice and a duty to stand up for what I believe
in. Freedoms Foundation meant a lot to me. It
opened my eyes toward the Constitution and the Declaration of
Independence. I am now more aware of the rights and responsibilities I
have as an American citizen. |
