| This one hour satellite television program, produced by DirectTV and shown free on its exclusive, inspirational channel, is a burst of patriotism, a musical celebration in honor of our nation's birthday. Hosted by NASCAR legend Darrell Waltrip and Dove Award winner Natalie Grant, Songs of Praise for America originally aired in 2007. The show was repeated for 2008, airing from June 30 through July the Fourth. Songs of Praise for America is about honoring and remembering the historic events that have shaped us and the heroes that inspire us. It is truly a musical celebration for the Fourth of July featuring many of our best loved patriotic songs. Everyday, American citizens share their memories of the holiday and what it means. Again, we are reminded that the greatest Americans are the people you see every day. Songs of Praise for America celebrates the American character, the qualities and principles that we are most proud of and thankful for — freedom, hope, courage, sacrifice. |
